Key facts

• Represented Ohio House District 94 (Athens/Meigs/Washington counties, southeast Ohio) from 2017 until term limits, and chaired the House Finance Committee (reported 2023–2024). From Nelsonville; Ohio University alum who played football there. Campaigns as "a younger guy for politics."
• Won the May 5, 2026 GOP primary over state Sen. Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) in a close race (~53–47). Endorsed by VP JD Vance and U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno; the Ohio Republican Party stayed neutral.
• Platform: cutting property taxes (a signer of the abolition-amendment petitions), lowering electric bills, and reining in state spending — "instead, we're going to give $1.7 billion to build stadiums around the state."
