Ohio Attorney General
Ohio's chief legal officer — represents the state and its agencies, issues legal opinions, runs the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, oversees consumer and charitable-law enforcement, and sets Ohio's posture in multistate litigation.
Why it matters
The AG's choice of which multistate suits to join — on Voting Rights in Ohio, Reproductive Rights in Ohio, health care, or the environment — is among the quietest but most consequential levers over residents' lives. The office is a Democracy and Institutions (Ohio) office in disguise.
2026
Open seat (Dave Yost term-limited). The race is Ohio 2026 Attorney General Race: Keith Faber (R) vs. John Kulewicz (D). Part of the Ohio 2026 Elections slate.
